PI2Win is a program for one-dimensional interpretation of VES data for one observation profile. The IPI2WIN program is designed for geophysicists who aim to interpret both a satisfactory curve fit and a geological problem. What distinguishes IPI2Win from common programs for the automatic solution of the inverse problem is its focus on the geological result.
The software does an excellent job of interactive interpretation while having a user-friendly interface. A convenient control system allows the interpreter to choose from a set of equivalent solutions the one that will be the best both from the geophysical (i.e., provide the minimum selection discrepancy) and from the geological (i.e., ensure the geological significance of the geoelectric section) points of view. The interpretation approach implemented in IPI2Win is based on the choice of the concept of geological structure along the profile and allows the best use of a priori information in complex geological situations. At the same time, PI2Win allows the use of other approaches to interpretation (including the formal one), depending on the geological problem being solved, the qualifications of the geophysicist and their adherence to certain schools of interpretation.
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
IPI2Win software is designed for automatic and semi-automatic (interactive) interpretation of data from various modifications of vertical electrical soundings, including traditional installations.
SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
IPI2Win can be installed on any IBM PC-compatible computer running Windows ’95/’98/NT/2000/XP. It is desirable that the video monitor operate in a 256 or more colour-mode.
